Enlighten Swan

To build your Swam with light you have to follow two set of the instrucctions.
A. Build your Swam
B. Install the light.

In this brief tutorial we will explain how to it.

A. Build your Swam. 
We will not focus on detail in this step, as there are different sites which have very good explanations.
We recommend in particular the instructions on how to make an origami flapping bird. 


B. Install the light 


To start this set of instrucctions you have:
1 Swam
1 LED
1 Battery
1 tape double sided

 1. First you will make two holes on the head of your Swam to insert the LED.

2. Once the wholes are made insert your LED

3.  Now lets check how to put the battery. 

Batteries have two polarities, one positive (+) and one negative (-). The polarity indicate how the current flows. We will explain this in more detail in a further post. However at the moment is important to know because your LED, which also has a (+) and a (-) should match properly with your battery.


To test make that the legs of the LED and the legs of the battery make contact as it is shown in the photo.

Once you know that the LED turns on, remember the position to the battery, because now we will fix it.


4. To fix the battery  to the tape below the head of the Swam.

And put the battery in the position where you know the legs of the battery will match the legs of the LEDs and it will turn on.

Now fold the legs of the battery and LED smoothly so that you can make a very informal switch between them.

Once the legs touch each other the LED will turn on, and if you need to safe battery's energy let the legs loose.

Now your Swam with light is ready!
